What it's actually made of
Colour cast through the resin, not printed on it
It is moulded resin with a stained-glass finish. The colour runs right through each panel rather than being printed on the surface, and the dark outlines are moulded in as part of the piece, so the light comes through in blocks rather than as one flat purple glow.
A hat with a proper brim
The purples run darkest up the point of the crown and lift towards the brim, with a distinct band where the two meet. The brim is what does the work: without that width and the slight kink in the point, it would be a cone.

Is it bright enough to be useful, or is it just for the season?
It is an accent lamp rather than a main light. It gives a hall or a windowsill a warm purple glow in the evening, which is as good in January as it is at the end of October.
How is it powered?
It runs from a USB cable, so it plugs into any USB adapter, a laptop or a power bank — whatever socket is nearest the hall table. No candle to watch and no batteries to hunt for on the thirty-first.
How big is it?
About 15 cm tall and 15 cm wide, and 10 cm front to back — roughly one and a half times the height of a mug. It sits happily on a hall table, a windowsill or a bookshelf without taking the surface over. Measurements are approximate and vary a little from design to design.
How do I clean it?
A dry, soft cloth, or a soft brush across the brim and down the crown. No solvents, polishes or harsh sprays — resin does not take kindly to them.

Will it arrive in one piece?
