★★★★★ 4.8 · 50,000+ reviews

A miniature Victorian street lamp that hangs from a scrolled iron bracket
Clips onto the shelf — no drilling, no wall fixings
Warm lantern glow that washes down the spines of your books
Turns an ordinary bookcase into something worth looking at after dark

Bookcases disappear the moment the big light goes off.

All that colour on the spines, and in the evening you cannot see any of it. A small lamp hung at shelf height brings the whole row back.

Nothing screwed into the wall or the woodwork
Nothing bulky standing on the shelf itself
Nothing that glares — it lights the books, not your eyes

What you are getting

Scrolled iron bracket

Matte black metal with a flat plate that slides under the books and holds the lamp steady.

Lantern head

A classic street-lamp shape with a warm bulb inside, so the light pools downward onto the shelf.

Hangs on a chain

The lantern swings slightly below the arm, which is what gives it the little-street-corner look.

Metal bracket and lantern · warm light · sits on standard shelf boards · no fixings needed

What customers are saying

★★★★★

Carol H., Shrewsbury

"It makes the whole bookcase look like a little street at night. I have had more comments about this than anything else in the room."

★★★★★

Maureen F., Bangor

"Took about ten seconds to set up. No tools, no holes in the wall, which was exactly what I wanted."

★★★★★

Lesley A., Doncaster

"The metalwork is properly solid. I expected something tinny for the money and it is nothing of the sort."

Common questions

Do I need to drill into the shelf?

No. The flat plate slides under the books and their weight holds everything in place.

How bright is it?

It is a warm accent light for the shelf rather than room lighting — lovely in the evening, not something to read small print by.

Will it fit a narrow shelf?

It is designed for standard shelf boards and works on fixed bookcases, floating shelves and alcove shelving.

Can I hang more than one?

Yes — a row of two or three along a long shelf is the look most customers go for.

What if it is not right?

You have 30 days to return it — just get in touch and we will sort it out.
