Some dogs you have to guess at. This is not one of them.
A dachshund is mostly outline: long in the middle, low to the ground, and entirely certain of itself. That outline survives being cast in resin, which is more than can be said for most breeds. Lit or unlit, you know exactly what is sitting on the table.

Colour cast through the resin, not printed on top of it
The colour runs right through each panel rather than sitting on the surface as a print, and the dark leading lines are moulded in as part of the piece. That is why the light comes through in blocks rather than one flat wash — and why it weighs a fraction of what leaded glass would, and won't chip or crack if it goes off the sill.
A dachshund, not a dog shape
The browns run deep along the back and lift to honey and amber down the chest and legs, and the long muzzle, the low body and the drop of the ears each read as their own panel of colour. It reads as the breed rather than a generic small dog.

Is it bright enough to read by?
No, and it isn't meant to be. It is an accent lamp — the sort of glow that changes how a room feels in the evening without taking over from your main light.
How is it powered?
It runs from a USB cable, so it goes into whatever socket is nearest — a USB plug adapter, a laptop, or a power bank if the spot you have chosen is nowhere near a wall.
How big is it?
About 15 cm tall and 15 cm wide, with 10 cm front to back — roughly one and a half times the height of a mug. It sits happily on a windowsill, a bedside table or a hall shelf. Measurements are approximate and vary a little between designs.
How do I keep it clean?
A dry, soft cloth, or a soft brush run along the panels. Nothing wet, and no solvents or harsh sprays — resin does not take kindly to them.
Where does it look best?
Somewhere the light can come through it: a windowsill, a hall table, the shelf at the end of a landing. It is at its best in a corner that is currently doing nothing.
Will it survive the post?
Rather better than glass would — resin takes a knock without shattering. It is cushioned and boxed for the journey all the same. If anything arrives damaged, send us a photograph and we will put it right.
