What it's actually made of
Colour cast through the resin, not printed on it
It's moulded resin with a stained-glass finish. The colour runs right through each panel instead of being printed on the surface, and the dark outlines are moulded in as part of the piece, which is why the light arrives in bands of rose and coral instead of one pink smear.
Colour that follows the curls
The panels change tone as they go round the coat — deeper rose through the body, lighter gold at the topknot and the pom on the tail — so you can read the curl of the fur rather than just the outline of a dog.

Common questions
What's it actually for — light, or decoration?
Both, but decoration first. It gives off a soft, coloured glow, the sort you'd leave on in a corner all evening. It won't do the job of a reading lamp and isn't trying to.
How is it powered?
A USB cable, so it plugs into any USB adapter, a laptop or a power bank — whichever socket happens to be nearest the shelf you've picked. Nothing to wire in.
How big is it?
About 15 cm tall and 15 cm wide, 10 cm front to back — roughly one and a half times the height of a mug. That's a windowsill, a dressing table or a kitchen shelf sorted, without it taking the whole surface. Measurements are approximate and vary a little between designs.
How do I clean it?
Dry, soft cloth, or a soft brush along the panels. Nothing harsh — no solvents, polishes or strong sprays, which can mark the resin.
Where does it look best?
Against a window, or on a shelf with a plain wall behind it so the colours have something to work against. Rooms that are mostly cream and grey are where it earns its keep.
Will it arrive in one piece?
It's cast resin rather than real glass, so it's a good deal tougher than it looks and won't shatter if it takes a knock off a sill. It's cushioned and boxed properly all the same. If it turns up damaged, send us a photo and we'll sort it out.
