What it's actually made of

The colour sits inside the panels instead of on top of them, and the dark leading lines are moulded in as part of the piece. That's why the light arrives in separate blocks of colour instead of one flat glow — and why it weighs a fraction of a leaded glass lamp and won't crack if it's knocked.
A shell, not a green oval
The shell is broken into plates the way a real one is, with the deeper greens toward the middle and lighter amber toward the edges. The flippers are set paler so they read as flippers even from across the room.

Is it bright enough to read by?
No, and it isn't meant to be. It's an accent lamp — the sort of light that changes the mood of a room in the evening rather than lighting it up. Think lit window rather than reading lamp.
How is it powered?
Through a USB cable, which keeps it simple: any USB adapter, a laptop or a power bank will run it, so it can go wherever the nearest socket happens to be.
How big is it?
About 15 cm tall and 15 cm wide, and 10 cm front to back — roughly one and a half times the height of a mug. That's small enough for a sill, a bedside table or a bathroom shelf without crowding anything else on it. Measurements are approximate and vary a little from design to design.
How do I keep it clean?
A dry, soft cloth over the panels is all it asks for. Avoid solvents and harsh cleaning sprays — resin doesn't take to them, and it needs no polish at all.
