What it's actually made of
Colour cast through the resin, not printed on a shade
Each panel is moulded in its own colour, so the tone runs right through it rather than sitting on the surface, and the dark leading lines are moulded in as part of the piece. The lit lamp shows distinct blocks of colour rather than a single wash of light.
An owl you meet eye to eye
The indigo runs deepest across the wings and back and lifts to violet and pale mauve down the breast, where the smaller panels suggest feathering. The amber in the round eyes is the warmest colour on the lamp, which is why the face is the first thing you see when it's lit.

Is it bright enough to read by?
No — it's an accent lamp. It's for the low light at the end of the evening and for the look of the thing, so you'd keep your reading lamp for reading.
How is it powered?
From a USB cable. That means no hunting for a free wall socket — any USB adapter, a laptop or a power bank will run it, which is useful on a landing or a bedside table where the sockets are already spoken for.
How big is it?
About 15 cm tall and 15 cm wide, and 10 cm front to back — roughly one and a half times the height of a mug. That's comfortable on a bedside table, a landing shelf or a windowsill without dominating it. Measurements are approximate and vary a little from design to design.
How do I clean it?
A dry, soft cloth, or a soft brush drawn along the panels. Leave sprays, polishes and solvent-based cleaners alone — resin doesn't take to them, and they'll dull the colour.
