Why most faux fur cushions go wrong
The cheap ones are a short, sparse pile glued to a stiff backing. Out of the parcel they look acceptable. A month later the pile has matted into clumps where it has been sat against, and the corners have started to curl upward because the backing won't bend.
A long, dense pile on a soft backing behaves differently. It falls rather than stands, it brushes back out with your hand, and the cushion keeps its shape against a sofa arm instead of lifting away from it.
