Why most textured cushions disappoint
Bouclé is everywhere at the moment, and most of what's sold as bouclé is a thin loop knitted onto a backing. It looks right in a photograph. Then it snags on a watch strap, a loop pulls, and there's a bald line across the front that never goes back.
A proper bouclé is woven with the loop locked into the ground cloth. That is the difference between a cushion you keep and one you quietly turn face-down after three months.

Flecked boucléThe pink is spun into the yarn rather than printed on, so the flecks go all the way through and can't rub off at the corners.
Velvet borderA flat band of red velvet frames the panel. It gives the cushion an edge to hold its shape against, which is why it still looks square after a month.
Hidden zipAlong the lower back edge, so nothing interrupts the front and the cover still comes off easily.
