The spiral at the center of this piece is the same shape people have been carving into rock and pressing into metal for longer than anyone can trace. We made this one for the people who feel something when they see it - who put it on their ankle and find themselves looking down at it during the day.

The spiral is formed from a single continuous copper strip, coiled by hand from the center outward, then joined to the band which we shape separately and curve gently so it sits right against the ankle. Copper has been worn against the skin for thousands of years, and it develops its own patina over time, loved for the warm feel and character it takes on against the skin.

This is one of the last anklets we'll make before we close our workshop. We hope the spiral finds the ankle it belongs on.
