Does copper mark the skin green?
It can do, and we would rather you heard it from us than discovered it. The green is copper reacting with the natural acids on your skin. It lifts off with soap and water in seconds and does no harm whatsoever. It is a mark, not a rash, and it is more likely in warm weather or over hand cream. The clear lacquer inside the band reduces it considerably.
Is there anything in the idea that copper helps aches and pains?
No, and we would rather say so than sell you a story. Copper bracelets have been tested against dummy bracelets in randomised controlled trials, and there was no effect on arthritis, joint pain, inflammation or circulation. Will the scene wear away?
Not in the way printing does. The lines are pressed down into the metal, so wearing the bracelet burnishes the high points and leaves the recesses darker. The scene generally becomes easier to read over time rather than harder.
Is one size going to fit the person I am buying for?
Almost certainly. The band is open at the back, so it eases over the side of the wrist and settles. If it sits looser or tighter than she would like, the gap can be closed or opened slightly by hand, gently and in small steps.
How do I clean it without losing the detail?
A soft dry cloth for every day. If you want it brighter, use a copper polish or lemon and salt with a soft cloth rather than anything abrasive. That leaves the darker tone sitting down in the pressed lines, which is what makes the scene read from a distance.
