Common questions
Will it leave a faint green mark?
It can do on some skin, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you find out. Copper reacts with the natural acids on your skin and leaves a green tint sitting on the surface. It is harmless, it is a mark rather than a rash, and soap and water removes it in seconds. Warm weather, hand cream and perfume all make it more likely. The clear lacquer inside the band reduces it, and a night off every so often clears it entirely.
Do the copper and the magnets do anything for pain or wellbeing?
No. Both have been tested and both failed. Randomised placebo-controlled trials of copper bracelets and of magnetic bracelets found no effect on arthritis, joint pain, inflammation, swelling or circulation. We mention the six magnets because they are part of how this bracelet is built, not because they do anything for you. We would rather lose the sale than make a claim that is not true.
I have a pacemaker. Is that a problem?
Take advice before wearing it. Magnets can interfere with pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, insulin pumps and some other implanted devices. If you or the person you are buying for has one, speak to your GP or the clinic that manages the device first. In the meantime, our plain copper pieces contain no magnets at all.
How does the fit work without a clasp?
The band is open at the back. You ease the gap over the side of your wrist and it settles into place. If you want it closer you can press the gap in slightly with your fingers, or open it out the same way — gently, a little at a time, because copper is a soft metal.
How do I keep the pattern looking sharp?
A soft dry cloth is enough for most days. If you want the piece brighter, use a copper polish with a cloth rather than anything abrasive, which leaves the darker tone sitting in the worked lines and keeps the infinity pattern easy to read.
