How the segments are shaped
One node at a time
The copper is pressed into each rounded node separately, the way bamboo builds itself section by section. It takes far longer than rolling a repeating pattern down a band, and it's why the segments have their own small differences rather than looking machine-perfect.
Shaped, so it forgives
The curves between the nodes catch light at different angles, which breaks up reflections. Practically, that means the scuffs of an ordinary week — worktops, steering wheels, handbag zips — don't announce themselves.

Common questions
Will it turn my wrist green?
It can, on some people, and we'd rather say so plainly. It's the copper reacting with the natural acids on your skin — harmless, a mark rather than a rash, and soap and water takes it off in a few seconds. It shows up more in hot weather or under hand cream. If you'd rather not have it at all, a thin coat of clear nail lacquer inside the band cuts it right down, topped up every few months.
How does it go on if there's no clasp?
You slide it over the side of your wrist — not over the back of your hand — and press the two ends gently until it sits where you want it. One hand does it, in a couple of seconds, and you can do it without looking. Coming off is the same in reverse.
Will the nodes catch on my clothes?
No — they're rounded rather than faceted, and there are no edges or prongs anywhere on it. It's one of the easier pieces in the collection to wear under a sleeve, which is worth knowing if you live in jumpers from October onwards.
Is there nickel in it?
None. It's 99.9% pure copper with nothing plated over it. Nickel is the most common jewellery contact allergen there is, and it's simply not in this piece.
