Common questions
What do the twenty-five magnets actually do?
They are a feature of how the anklet is built — small discs set into the metal, one at a time, along its length. That is the whole honest answer. Magnetic jewellery has been put through randomised, placebo-controlled trials and no effect on pain or anything else was found, so we make no claims for them and we would be wary of any seller who does. One practical caution: if you have a pacemaker or another implanted medical device, speak to your GP before wearing magnetic jewellery.
Will it leave a green mark on my ankle?
It can. Copper reacts with the natural acids and salts on skin and leaves a faint green tint on some people — more so in heat, and more so under sun cream. It is harmless: a mark, not a rash, and soap and water remove it in seconds. If you would rather avoid it, a thin coat of clear lacquer on the inner face of the links cuts it down a great deal, and can be redone as it wears.
Does the copper itself help with anything?
No. The same kind of trials that tested magnets tested copper bracelets, and found no effect there either. We would rather say so plainly. Buy this because it is hand-made, solid, nickel-free and properly put together.
Will it fit my ankle?
