Three strands, three metals
A rose strand of 99.9% pure copper, a gold-toned brass strand, and a silver-tone strand. Real metals rather than three colours of plating, which is why they keep their difference as they age.
Tensioned one strand at a time
Each strand is shaped and brought to tension separately, then the three are wound together. That is the slow part of making it, and it is what keeps the twist even the whole way round.

Common questions
I react to nickel — is this one safe for me?
An honest answer rather than a comfortable one. The copper strand is 99.9% pure copper and the brass strand is a copper-and-zinc alloy — neither contains nickel. Tansy is the one piece in this collection that mixes metals, though, and we can't certify the exact alloy of the silver-tone strand. So if your nickel allergy is a strong one, choose one of our solid all-copper bracelets instead, where we can tell you with certainty that there is no nickel in it anywhere.
Will it leave a green mark on my wrist?
The copper strand can, yes. Copper reacts with the natural acids and salts on skin and some people get a faint green tint underneath it. It is harmless — a mark, not a rash — and it washes off with soap and water in seconds. It happens more in hot weather and more if you put it on over hand cream. A thin coat of clear lacquer on the inside of the copper strand reduces it a great deal.
Does copper do anything for aches or stiffness?
No. Randomised, placebo-controlled trials tested copper bracelets directly and found no effect. We would rather lose the sale than tell you otherwise. Buy it because three real metals wound by hand look good on a wrist and it goes on without a fight.
How do I adjust it?
Hold it with the opening towards you and ease the two ends apart to loosen, or press them gently together to tighten. Work in small movements and try it as you go. It holds where you leave it and can be reset as often as you like.
How do I look after three different metals?
The same way, thankfully. A soft dry cloth is enough most of the time. The copper will warm and darken first, the brass more slowly, the silver-tone strand least — which is rather the charm of it. If you want everything bright again, a little lemon juice and salt on a cloth will lift the copper and brass; rinse and dry it properly afterwards.
What size should I order?
