How Wren is made
Hammered, not textured by machine
The band is worked over with a hammer by hand, so the dents are slightly uneven and sit at slightly different angles. That's what gives it the broken, shifting light instead of one hard line of shine down the middle.
Six magnets, set flush
Three at each end of the band, dropped into seats cut for them so they sit level with the copper rather than proud of it. You can feel where they are with a fingertip and not much more than that. They are part of how the piece is built — we make no health or wellbeing claims for them.

What do the magnets actually do?
They are a construction feature and nothing else. Six small magnets sit in seats cut into the ends of the band, three on each side, level with the copper surface. We make no therapeutic, medical or wellbeing claims for them — controlled trials of magnetic bracelets have not found an effect, and we're not going to tell you otherwise. Does copper leave a green mark on the wrist?
Sometimes, yes. Copper reacts with the natural acids in your skin, and that can leave a faint green tint underneath the band — more likely in warm weather or over hand cream. It's harmless, it's a mark rather than a rash, and soap and water remove it in seconds. A thin coat of clear lacquer painted inside the band cuts it right down if you'd rather not see it at all.
Will the hammered finish wear smooth?
Not in any meaningful way. The marks are struck into the metal rather than printed on it, so they go as deep as the hammer went. The high points will brighten where they rub against a sleeve and the hollows will darken — which is precisely what makes a hammered piece look better with age.
How do I clean it?
A soft cloth with copper polish, or lemon juice with a pinch of salt, then rinse and dry well. Go gently around the magnet seats and don't soak it. If you like the darker patina, leave it be — a lot of people do.
