The inlay is cut and seated into a channel along the face of the band, one piece at a time, so the stone sits flush with the copper instead of standing proud and catching.

Common questions
Does copper turn your skin green?
Sometimes, yes — and we would rather be the shop that says so. The acids that are naturally in your skin react with the metal and can leave a faint green tint under the band. It is completely harmless, it is a mark rather than a rash, and a few seconds with soap and water takes it off. It varies from person to person and tends to show more in hot weather or if your hands are often damp. A clear lacquer on the inside of the band cuts it down a good deal.
Will it help my joints or my arthritis?
It will not, and we won't pretend otherwise. Proper randomised trials comparing copper bracelets against dummy ones found no difference in joint pain, stiffness, inflammation or anything else. A lot of shops are vague about this; we would rather lose the sale than tell you something untrue. Wear the Oak because it is honest metal and it looks well on the wrist.
Will it fit me? I have quite a small wrist
It is one size and open at the back, which means it fits most wrists rather than one particular measurement. Slide it on at the narrow part of the wrist and squeeze the ends gently towards each other until it sits comfortably. Work slowly and only a little at a time — copper moves willingly, and there is no need to force it.
How do I clean it without damaging the jade?
Keep any polishing to the copper and away from the stone. A soft dry cloth is enough for everyday; for the metal itself, a little lemon juice and salt on a cloth brings the brightness back, then rinse and dry it thoroughly. Take it off for washing up, bathing and swimming.
I have a nickel allergy. Is this all right for me?
The metal here is copper and contains no nickel, so the usual culprit is not present. Copper sensitivity does exist, though it is far less common, so if it is new to you then give it a short wear first and see how you get on.
What if it isn't right when it arrives?
