Common questions
Will it mark his wrist green?
It might, on some skin. Copper reacts with the natural acids in sweat and leaves a faint green tint on the surface of the skin underneath. It is completely harmless, it is a mark rather than a rash, and it washes away with soap in a few seconds. Hot weather and manual work both make it more likely. The clear lacquer inside the band reduces it, and a night off every so often clears it altogether.
Do the copper and the magnets help with aches, stiffness or circulation?
No. Both claims have been tested properly and both failed. Randomised placebo-controlled trials of copper bracelets and of magnetic bracelets found no effect on arthritis, joint pain, inflammation, swelling or circulation. The magnets in Pine are part of how it is made and nothing else. We would rather tell you that than take the sale on a false promise.
He has a pacemaker. Should he wear this?
Not without checking first. Magnets can interfere with pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, insulin pumps and other implanted devices. Ask his GP or the clinic that looks after the device, and if the answer is no, our plain copper bracelets contain no magnets at all.
Is 185mm going to fit him?
That is the length of the band itself, and because it is open at the back rather than a closed loop it covers the great majority of men's wrists. It slides on from the side. If it needs to be a little tighter or looser, the gap can be eased by hand, slowly and a small amount at a time, as copper is a soft metal.
Does it need much looking after?
