Does copper turn your skin green?
On some people, some of the time, yes — and we would sooner put that at the top of the page than bury it lower down. The copper meets the natural acid on your skin and leaves a faint green tint behind. It sits on the surface, it is harmless, and soap and water removes it in seconds. It is a mark, not a rash. Heat, hand cream and perfume all make it more likely. The clear lacquer inside the band reduces it, and giving your wrist a night off now and then helps too.
Is copper good for arthritis or aches?
No. There is no kind way to dress that up, so here it is straight: randomised placebo-controlled trials on copper bracelets found no benefit at all for arthritis, joint pain, inflammation or circulation. Will one size really fit me?
The band is open at the back, so it is not really one fixed size — it is a band you ease over the side of your wrist until it sits comfortably. What happens to the colour over time?
It warms and darkens. New copper is bright and pinkish; worn copper goes a deep antique brown, and it gets there faster on the parts that rub against a sleeve.
