No nickel
Nickel is the most common contact allergen in jewellery and it is in an enormous amount of inexpensive plated metal. There is none in this cuff.

Common questions
Will it leave a green mark on my wrist?
It can, and we would rather say so up front than let it be a surprise. Copper reacts with the natural acids in your skin, and on some people that leaves a faint green tint on the skin underneath. It is harmless, it is a mark rather than a rash, and it washes off with ordinary soap and water in a few seconds. It shows up more in hot weather, over hand cream, or after a long day. The clear lacquer inside the band reduces it, and taking the cuff off overnight helps as well.
Does copper jewellery help with joint pain or arthritis?
No. We will not tell you otherwise. Copper bracelets have been put through proper randomised placebo-controlled trials and were found to have no effect on arthritis, joint pain, inflammation or circulation. We sell this as a piece of solid copper jewellery that is nice to wear and kind to sensitive skin, and nothing beyond that. If somebody is selling you copper as a treatment, they are selling you something that has been tested and did not work.
How does it fit?
It is one size and open-backed. The gap at the back goes over the side of your wrist and the band sits where it lands. If you want it a little snugger you can close the gap gently with your fingers — work slowly and in small steps, since copper is a soft metal and does not like being bent back and forth repeatedly.
How do I look after it?
Take it off for the bath, the pool and the washing up where you can, and dry it if it gets wet. It will darken to a warm brown patina with wear, which most people come to prefer. If you would rather have it bright, a few seconds with a soft cloth and a copper polish, or a cut lemon and a pinch of salt, brings it straight back.
Is copper itself antimicrobial?
Copper is naturally antimicrobial as a metal — that is a genuine property of the material and it is why you still see it on door handles in some hospitals. We are not going to stretch that into a benefit for the person wearing it, because a bracelet on your wrist is not a door handle and there is no evidence it does anything for you.
